Project Update 2020-08-12

RAPID CITY, S.D. – August 12 – Work this week includes curb and gutter installation, driving lane tie-ins, and sidewalk work along Founders Park. Paving of the remaining westbound driving lane is anticipated to be progressing next week. The east entrance into the Founders Park parking lot is open and the west entrance is closed for construction. The westbound lanes from 12th Street/Founder’s Park Drive to Cross Street are closed and two-way traffic is in the eastbound lanes. There is a 10-foot width restriction though the construction work zone.

The Deadwood Avenue southbound driving lane is closed as crews work to install storm sewer and city utilities prior to widening and paving the southbound lane between Cement Plant Road and Krebs Drive.

Business access on Omaha Street will remain open at all times. Access to Founders Park will be limited to a single approach. Left-hand turns onto Omaha Street are discouraged to allow for continued flow of traffic. Motorists are asked to be aware of suddenly slowing and merging traffic, changing work zone locations, reduced speeds through the work zone, and construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lane. For questions, the public may call (605) 343-3311 and leave a message or email@ferberengineering.com.
