RAPID CITY, S.D. – October 15 – Storm sewer installation continues near Cross Street. Work this week also includes grading, gravel placement, and concrete paving. The first concrete paving in eastbound lanes is anticipated later this week beginning at Canal Street moving east. Two-way traffic is in the westbound lanes of Omaha Street from the west end of construction to 12th Street. Access to Oshkosh Street and Cross Street is from Canal Street. Access to the Omaha Street Plaza is from 12th Street.
Traffic has been reduced to two lanes on Deadwood Avenue between Cement Plant Road and Krebs Drive.
There is a 10-foot width restriction though the construction work zone. Business access on Omaha Street will remain open at all times. Left-hand turns onto Omaha Street are discouraged to allow for continued flow of traffic. Motorists are asked to be aware of suddenly slowing and merging traffic, changing work zone locations, reduced speeds through the work zone, and construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lane. For questions, the public may call (605) 343-3311 and leave a message or firstname.lastname@example.org.
