RAPID CITY, S.D. – November 25 – Work this week includes asphalt paving at Cross Street and mainline concrete paving from the soccer field entrance to Canal Street. There will be no work this Thursday. Next week there will be street lighting work in the median and additional concrete tie-ins throughout the project. Access to Oshkosh Street and Cross Street is from Canal Street. Oshkosh Street is anticipated to be opened next week. Access to the Omaha Street Plaza is from 12th Street. The west entrance into Founders Park will be closed Monday, November 30 to allow for the construction of turn lanes at the intersection of Cross Street.
The middle lane on Deadwood Avenue, between Cement Plant Road and Krebs Drive, will be paved today. Sidewalk work is anticipated to start on Deadwood Avenue next week.
There is a 10-foot width restriction though the construction work zone. Business access on Omaha Street will remain open at all times. Left-hand turns onto Omaha Street are discouraged to allow for continued flow of traffic. Motorists are asked to be aware of suddenly slowing and merging traffic, changing work zone locations, reduced speeds through the work zone, and construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lane.
