Project Update 2021-01-14

RAPID CITY, S.D. – January 14 – Work this week includes median curb and paving tie-ins.

Omaha Street traffic is currently in two eastbound lanes and two westbound lanes from 12th Street to Cross Street. The inside lanes remain closed for work in the median. The traffic signal at Cross Street is active.

A change in traffic is anticipated for late next week. All westbound lanes will be open and there will be a single lane closure in the eastbound lanes.

The southbound outside lane on Deadwood Avenue, between Cement Plant Road and Krebs Drive remains closed for sidewalk and retaining wall work.

There is a 10-foot width restriction though the construction work zone. The restriction is anticipated to be lifted late next week with the change in traffic. Business access on Omaha Street remains open at all times. Motorists are asked to be aware of suddenly slowing and merging traffic, changing work zone locations, reduced speeds through the work zone, and construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lane.
