RAPID CITY, S.D. – March 31, 2021 – The Bike Skills Park north of Omaha Street will be temporarily closed April 7 through April 14, 2021, to allow crews to work on a detention pond northeast of the park. The bike path on the south side of the Bike Skills Park will be open but will not provide access to the Bike Skills Park.
Work continues on the median from the soccer field entrance to 12th Street, which includes the installation of decorative concrete, landscaping, and a pedestrian crossing at Canal Street.
Work also continues on the water main behind the curb on the north side of the Mountain View Road intersection. This work is anticipated to be completed April 2, 2021.
Crews are progressing on foundation work in support of widening the bridge over Rapid Creek.
Removals continue for storm sewer work on the north side of Omaha Street, from Rapid Creek west to Deadwood Avenue. Storm sewer work is scheduled to begin April 1, 2021.
Motorists are asked to be aware of suddenly slowing and merging traffic, changing work zone locations, reduced speeds through the work zone, and construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lanes.
Additional information will be provided as phasing, access, and traffic control changes with the progression of the project.
