RAPID CITY, S.D. – January 4, 2022 – A change to the northbound Mountain View Drive to eastbound Omaha Street traffic pattern is anticipated for late next week. Additional details will be provided in next weeks’ update. Motorists are advised to follow traffic control signage.
Work on the project has slowed due to recent weather conditions but will continue as weather permits. Surfacing work including concrete paving, panel replacements, and lane tie-ins are planned to continue at the Mountain View Drive intersection and west of the Rapid Creek bridge.
Work continues on the widening of the Rapid Creek bridge toward the south. The bike path that travels under the Rapid Creek bridge is currently closed and is anticipated to remain closed through January 2022.
Motorists are asked to be aware of suddenly slowing and merging traffic, changing work zone locations, reduced speeds through the work zone, and construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lanes.
