Project Update 2022-01-13

RAPID CITY, S.D. – January 12, 2022 – A change to the northbound Mountain View Drive to eastbound Omaha Street traffic pattern is anticipated for late next week. Northbound motorists on Mountain View Drive wanting to go eastbound on Omaha Street will use the new right turn lane and travel on the new eastbound lanes until they merge with Omaha Street eastbound traffic near the soccer fields. Motorists are advised to follow traffic control signage.

Surfacing work including concrete paving, panel replacements, and lane tie-ins continues at Deadwood Avenue and Mountain View Drive intersections and west of the Rapid Creek bridge.

Work continues on the widening of the Rapid Creek bridge toward the south. The bike path that travels under the Rapid Creek bridge is currently closed and is anticipated to remain closed through mid-April 2022.

Motorists are asked to be aware of suddenly slowing and merging traffic, changing work zone locations, reduced speeds through the work zone, and construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lanes.
