Project Update 2022-03-30

RAPID CITY, S.D. – March 30, 2022 – Surfacing work including panel replacements and lane tie-ins will continue near the Rapid Creek bridge. Grading work and gravel placement continues in the median area east of the Mountain View Drive intersection. Paving of turn lanes and median curb placement will follow. Clean up, Landscaping, and miscellaneous work continues behind the curb along the project area.

Work continues on the widening of the Rapid Creek bridge toward the south. The bike path that travels under the Rapid Creek bridge is currently closed and is anticipated to remain closed through mid-April 2022.

A daytime lane closure is planned for next week for the inside eastbound lane from Cross Street to 12th Street to allow for landscape work in the median area.

Motorists are asked to be aware of suddenly slowing and merging traffic, changing work zone locations, reduced speeds through the work zone, and construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lanes.
