Project Update 04-07-2022

RAPID CITY, S.D. – April 6, 2022 – The bike path is scheduled to re-open on April 16th! Work continues on the widening of the Rapid Creek bridge toward the south, including barrier and sidewalk placement.

Surfacing work including panel replacements and lane tie-ins will continue near the Rapid Creek bridge. Grading work and gravel placement continues in the median area east of the Mountain View Drive intersection. Paving of turn lanes and median curb placement will follow. Clean up, Landscaping, and miscellaneous work continues behind the curb along the project area.

Traffic will be placed in the northbound lanes of Deadwood Avenue next week to accommodate water installation on the south leg of the intersection.

Motorists are asked to be aware of suddenly slowing and merging traffic, changing work zone locations, reduced speeds through the work zone, and construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lanes.
