Project Update 2022-05-04

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The bike path will be closed on Monday, May 9, 2022, under the Rapid Creek Bridge for repairs and will reopen Friday, May 13, 2022.  Bike path traffic will be detoured in the same manner as previously on the project utilizing Mountain View Drive and West Main Street.

Clean up, landscaping, and miscellaneous work adjacent to the roadway will continue this week west of the Rapid Creek Bridge.  A traffic switch is expected the middle of next week, placing vehicles in the outside lanes to accommodate median and turn lane surface installation.

Work continues on the Rapid Creek Bridge, including barrier and median placement.

Grading and surfacing replacement in the south leg of the Deadwood Avenue intersection continues.

Curb and gutter will be placed in the soccer field entrance this week. Asphalt is expected to be placed on a number of project entrances next week.

Motorists are asked to be aware of suddenly slowing and merging traffic, changing work zone locations, reduced speeds through the work zone, and construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lanes.
