Project Update 2022-05-12

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The bike path remains closed under the Rapid Creek Bridge for repairs and will reopen Saturday, May 14, 2022.  Bike path traffic is detoured in the same manner as previously on the project utilizing Mountain View Drive and West Main Street.

Clean up, landscaping, and miscellaneous work adjacent to the roadway continues from Deadwood Avenue to Cross Street. A traffic switch on Rapid Creek Bridge in Rapid City, S.D. was made on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, Vehicles will be placed in the outside lanes to accommodate median and turn lane surface installation.

Miscellaneous work continues on the Rapid Creek Bridge.

Grading and surfacing replacement in the south leg of the Deadwood Avenue intersection continues.

Asphalt is expected to be placed at the soccer field entrance this week and at other project entrances next week.

Motorists are asked to be aware of suddenly slowing and merging traffic, changing work zone locations, reduced speeds through the work zone, and construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lanes.
